Lenor Romano spent years designing in the knitwear industry for others — sometimes toiling in what she called “moderate purgatory” — before she took the proverbial knitting needles into her hands and launched her own men’s knitwear company.

Today Lenor Romano LLC sells prestigious retailers and a host of top men’s specialty stores & catalogues .

Lenor first determined her sense of style at a young age. “I was never a frilly child.” By eight years old she rejected her mother’s attempts to dress her in ruffles and bows and started designing her own clothes, which her aunt helped her sew on her home machine.

As an adult, Lenor found menswear most conducive to her design aesthetic. Since graduating Parsons School of Design in New York, she has established her own independent imprint on menswear in general and knitwear. Her belief is that men should look “smart” — not messy or sloppy — yet comfortable.

She defines her collection not only by fit, quality and color but also by its “huggable factor.” If the garment has a great touch or “high Huggable” rating, it’s in!
